THE BEST SPORTBIKE OF 2019
For 2019, the RSV4 reclaims the Best Sportbike throne, of which it has won three of the last four years and edged last year only by the narrowest of margins (0.2% rating) as a confident runner-up.
Troy Siahaan of Motorcycle.com states “Ten years on and the Aprilia RSV4 platform is still the cream of the crop. With the RSV4 1100 Factory, however, the newest member of the RSV4 family is simply stunning. The way Aprilia has achieved this, though, is a little deceiving. Yes, the 1078cc V4 (sorta) shared with the Tuono 1100 sees some improvements the Tuono doesn’t get, but Aprilia found a way to integrate the increased power into the same magic chassis without upsetting its balance – a task which can’t be overstated.” Aprilia, with the V4 platform, continues to demonstrate, year after year, best in class performance and confidence inspiring control.
For 2019 Aprilia celebrates the RSV4 1100 Factory that boasts 217hp and the same confidence inspiring qualities always found on the WSBK championship winning RSV4, now in its new 1100 street bike update. Even though the RSV4 is now an 1100 it differs greatly from the
Tuono 1100. The RSV4 1100 engine may look the same as the Tuono but once you crack it open you will notice it is a completely new design. It has received new internal components that allow it to out perform both the previous 1000cc RSV4 and current 1100cc Tuono engine. This new powerplant combined with the ultimate control provided by the RSV4 frame and
upgraded electronics enter this bike into a league of its own. Not to mention the new graphics, carbon fiber elements, MotoGP inspired winglets and beautifully sounding Akrapovic exhaust, which all come standard and are street legal.
